Terms of Service

1. The platform

Data Products Tour is an online platform providing:

• Information about workshops and in-person or online events on data products, data mesh, and related topics.
• Books and written learning materials, available free or for purchase.
• A member area where registered users can manage their profile, communication preferences, and access member-only content.

The platform is operated by CloudVane GmbH, Achardgasse 14, 1210 Wien, Austria (FN 598605 b).

2. Eligibility and account registration

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate information during registration and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it.
• You may only create one account per person.
• Accounts are personal and may not be transferred or shared.

3. Authentication

Sign-in is handled via Google Firebase Authentication. By using Google sign-in, you also agree to Google's terms of service. We receive a verified identity token; we do not have access to your Google password.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content without our prior written consent.
• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the platform.

5. Workshops and events

• Workshop listings on the platform are for informational purposes. Specific booking, cancellation and refund terms are provided at the time of purchase for each event.
• We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events. In the event of a cancellation by us, registered participants will be notified and refunded where applicable.
• We are not liable for travel, accommodation or other costs incurred by participants in relation to any event.

6. Books and learning materials

• Free materials are provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use.
• Paid materials are licensed for personal use only and may not be redistributed, resold or reproduced without prior written consent.
• All intellectual property rights in platform content remain with CloudVane GmbH or the respective authors.

7. Member accounts and termination

• You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice where necessary for security or legal reasons.
• Upon termination, your right to access member-only content ceases immediately.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CloudVane GmbH shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by Austrian law.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered members of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Austria. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Vienna, Austria, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
